ANDOVER
The Lamb
Winchester Street, Andover
It's all change at this popular town centre Wadworth
pub after the town's longest serving landlady, Leonie Rickard, who had
been behind the bar for 43 years, died suddenly in February 2004. The
Lamb is a two-bar pub, although the public bit has become a Thai-influenced
restaurant. Probably the best pint of Wadworth you'll find locally.
Weyhill Fair
Weyhill, Andover (on the A342 out of town, 01264 773631)
Andover is my home town and this super roadside pub has been North
Hampshire CAMRA's pub of the year. It has been taken over by Fuller's
after 23 years in private hands without any major change to quality or
style. There's usually a good selection from the Fuller's range and two
or three guests.
