Marcus gets 'behind the bar' at Marston's

June 28, 2008: Marston’s Pub Company has appointed a new drinks promotions manager to help provide further support to its retailers and strengthen its ‘behind the bar’ trade.

Marcus Bewley joins Marston’s as the company refocuses on its relationship with its food and drink suppliers — and providing increasing levels of activity for its retailers. Marcus brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience of the pub trade from his time at the Spirit Group, where he spent six years.

Bewley, 29, is also responsible for the production of the company’s retailer led magazine Bar Runner — an essential tool for communicating forthcoming deals and promotions to its pubs, with over 100,000 promotions taken up in the last nine months.

Marcus said: “Marston’s has an excellent pub company estate with a successful track record, and I am looking forward to strengthening our supplier relations and helping our retailers to grow their trade.”

Marcus will report in to Dave Percival. “This is a key role for the company,” said Dave. “Marcus and I will be working closely together to ensure that we are helping our retailers build their trade and improve their profit through our range and promotions.”
