Mitchells & Butlers has good summer
September 27, 2007: Mitchells & Butlers has announced a strong recent trading performance.
Same outlet like-for-like sales in the 18 weeks to September 15 (the period since that covered at the interim results) increased by 2.6%.
"This represents a resilient performance during a period of poor weather, the introduction of the smoking ban in England and strong comparatives in July to September last year," said a spokesperson.
"Significant drinks market share gains have been made against an on-trade market where beer volumes fell by almost 7% in the four months to the end of August."
Mitchells & Butlers will announce its preliminary results for the year ended September 29 on November 29.
