Oak named Chester bar/pub of the year

March 27, 2008: The Oak, in Kelsall, has been named bar/pub of the year in the Chester Food and Drink Festival Awards.

Bar Lounge, of Watergate Street, Chester, won the silver award and The Faulkner, of Faulkner Street, Hoole, won the bronze.

The award ceremony was staged at Chester Racecourse and marked the climax of the main festival, although fringe events continue, with special offers and meal deals at restaurants across the city.
