PM could repeal 24-hour drinking
September 25, 2007: Gordon Brown has indicated that he has not ruled out changing licensing laws to bring an end to 24-hour drinking.
The Home Office will look into the matter and report by the end of the year. It will also investigate a possible u-turn on so-called super-casinos, and upgrading cannabis possession.
There are, of course, in effect very few premises that offer 24-hour licenses, which came into being with the 2005 Licensing Act.
The Prime Minister was being interviewed on Radio 4's Today programme.
