Marston's takes to the road
April 22, 2008: Marstons is running a series of roadshows to search for new retailers for its tenanted businesses and free trade pubs. The events will also provide a platform for existing retailers to interact with suppliers and Marstons staff.
The first event took place at Haydock Park Racecourse on April 16, with follow up shows at Doncaster Racecourse on April 24, Bristol City Football Club on April 29 and finally Walsall Football Club on May 1.
Organiser Karl Czinege, commercial manager for Marstons Pub Company, said: The idea behind the spring shows is twofold. Firstly, we want to recruit top-quality licensees to the business and, at the same time, support our existing retailers and make sure that they are fully aware of the range of services we provide.
Its obviously a difficult time in the trade and hopefully events like this provide an informal platform for licensees to gain help and advice, as well as talk to other licensees, sharing problems and business building ideas.
Around 25 suppliers are exhibiting, covering drinks brands, food, equipment, clothing and pub-specific activity. The theme of the shows is summer catering, focusing on new food start-ups and al fresco dining.
Visitors will have the chance to watch and take part in a range of demonstrations, talk to the experts about how to make the most of their pub business, pick up some invaluable marketing tips and benefit from some of the best deals on offer in the industry. Members of the public can also speak to the business opportunities team about running their own pub with Marstons.
