Two additions to Barracuda estate

l The George, in Chepstow, has been a hostelry for nearly 400 years
April 18, 2008: Barracuda Group has taken its total number of sites to 218 this week with two openings: the George, in Chepstow, and The Lancer, in Leighton Buzzard. Both will operate under the group's Smith & Jones brand.
The George is the fourth hotel business in Barracudas estate. Its site has been a hostelry since 1610 and has been refurbished to blend contemporary style in with the unique characteristics of the building. It has a high-quality bar on its ground floor with accommodation above.
The Lancer is Barracudas first foray into Bedfordshire.
Opening at 10am for breakfast each day, it will be serving cooked breakfast,
croissants and coffee, as well as offering other high quality food throughout
the day, including stone-baked pizza, and premium branded drinks.
The two sites represent a combined investment of over £2 million.
Mark McQuater, chief executive of the Barracuda Group, said: These
are two great outlets that have been well received locally. We plan to
continue to grow and expand our operation, whilst still focusing on running
quality businesses with great service and standards.
