Pubco wins rating value appeal

September 17, 2007: Pubco Brunning & Price has had the rateable value of one of its properties reduced on the basis that its increased turnover is the result of its "exceptional ability".

Over five days a Lands Tribunal heard evidence from a number of sources and examined comparable pub sites before inspector N J Rose,a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, allowed Brunning & Price's appeal against a big rating valuation rise.

Considerable weight was added to Brunning & Price's case by the pubco being named as pub group of the year by the Good Pub Guide in 1997, 2004 and 2007.
