Fuller's buy Ivy House, Chalfont St Giles pub
August 16, 2007: Fuller Smith & Turner has completed the purchase of the well-known Ivy House, in Chalfont St Giles. The pub was previously owned by Anthony and Jane Mears. Anthony Mears is deputy treasurer of the British Institute of Innkeepers and chairman of the organisations Thames Valley Region.
The pub is well known in the local area for its cask ale and wine, and excellent food. It will be run as a managed house and brings the total number of pubs in the Fullers estate to 364.
Simon Emeny, Fullers Inns managing director, said: This is a great purchase for Fullers. Anthony and Jane would only sell to a like-minded retailer, and Fullers shared their traditional values.
Our aim is always to run the best pub in any area, and we do this by offering outstanding cask-conditioned ales, delicious food, great wines and exemplary service. These are already in place at the Ivy House and I look forward to continuing to provide excellent standards of hospitality to the residents of Chalfont St Giles.
