European Inn named top dining pub in West

November 13, 2007: The European Inn, at Piddletrenthide, Dorset, has been named dining pub of the year in the Taste of the West awards.

The judges recognised the venue for its "good food, great atmosphere, impeccable service and very good value".

The pub generally has two or three ales on, from brewers such as Hop Back, Otter and the Dorset Brewing Company — the house beer is Palmer's Copper Ale.

Owners Mark and Emily Hammick refurbished the pub after buying it earlier this year and take pride in all food and drink served, whether it is a pint and a packet of crisps, or a three-course dinner with fine wine.
