Eyes Wide Open for Batemans and its tenants
May 10, 2008: Batemans has received British Institute of Innkeeping (BII) accreditation for its Eyes Wide Open code of practice.
Batemans Profit Partnership division is built on trust between the brewery and its pub tenants and its code of practice sets out in clear and concise terms what the tenants and prospective tenants can expect from the brewery, and clarifies exactly what the brewery expects in return.
Steve Howe, the BIIs director of membership, said: I am delighted that Batemans code of practice has been accredited by the BIIBAS benchmarking committee.
"This is a rigorous process and Batemans joins only four other, larger breweries and pub companies, to have attained this status.
"The benchmarking committee of industry experts scrutinise and cross-examine every detail of the code to ensure the business offer is clear, and they were very impressed with both the comprehensive nature of the code and also the co-operative way in which the process was conducted.
Rob Jones, Bateman's profit partnership director, added: We believe our tenancy agreement is one of the fairest in the industry and we strive to build genuine long-term relationships with our partners.
"We are particularly proud of the fact that our managing director, Stuart Bateman, wrote it, rather than an external consultancy, illustrating that Eyes Wide Open is a straightforward reflection of the transparent relationship we already have with our publican."
