Barracuda turnover up 16%
March 5, 2008: Turnover at the Barracuda Group was up 16% at £148.7 million in the year to September 29, 2007, the company has revealed.
Branch EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation) was up 12% to £37 million, adjusting for the impact of pubs closed during the year for refurbishment and rebranding in preparation for the smoking ban (this excludes pre-opening costs).
Food sales were up by 32.4% to £25.2 million.
Chief executive Mark McQuater commented: "The business continues to drive forward as customers appreciate the distinctive and quality brands we have developed. We believe this is one of the strongest set of managed pub brands in the UK."
