Survey paints gloomy picture of pub trade
April 3, 2008: Ten per cent of pubs are making no profit or operating at a loss, according to a new survey conducted for the Morning Advertiser.
The survey sheds a fairly gloomy light on the pub industry, with many licensees reporting having to make people redundant.
The smoking ban was seen as having had the biggest impact on business.
