Dunsmore named as new S&N chief executive
October 1, 2007: John Dunsmore is to succeed Tony Froggatt as chief executive of Scottish & Newcastle plc, its board has announced.
Mr Dunsmore, 48, is presently S&N's managing director, Western Europe. He will take up his new position on November 1. Mr Froggatt will remain available to the chairman and board for a further three months to ensure a smooth transition.
Sir Brian Stewart, S&N chairman, said: "The board is very grateful to Tony for his leadership in developing the company during his time as chief executive, and we look forward to John Dunsmore continuing to take Scottish & Newcastle forward for the benefit of shareholders and stakeholders alike. The directors wish Tony well for the future."
Mr Froggatt said: "I am proud to be able to leave Scottish & Newcastle as a world-class branded beer business which is performing so well in so many dynamic markets. It's a great company, with a great management team, and I am sure it will go from strength to strength."
