April 30, 2007: The Star at Crowlas Beer Today's 'branch office' has been named Cornwall pub of the year by the county's branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).
The pub a freehouse owned by Scillonian Pete Elvin has been recognised for the consistently high quality of its usually five beers, which are all guests.
Well over 1,000 beers have been served in the pub in the seven years that Pete has owned the property.
A presentation was made on Saturday by CAMRA branch chairman Rod Davis, accompanied by many local members.
