Old Tom is champion winter ale
January 29, 2005: Robinson's Old Tom (8.5%) has been named Champion Winter Beer of Britain.
The announcement was made at the New Century Hall, Manchester, where the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) is holding its annual Winter Beer Festival.
The company's commercial director, Oliver Robinson, described the result as "like winning the Oscars of winter ales".
The company hopes to use Old Tom's success to boost the profile of the brand nationwide.
