Artists and brewers meet for celebration of beer
October 28, 2006: An art collective has teamed up with a group of well-known brewers for a celebration of art and beer in London on December 9.
4WALL is staging the show - entitled Beer Futures - in the Fashion and Textile Museum, Bermondsey Street, London, from 2-7pm, where there will be representatives of the Fuller's, Utobeer, Thornbridge, McLaughlin's and the Brothers brewery in attendance.
4WALL will be announcing the production of their very own brew, which will be unveiled on the day by the Thornbridge Brewery.
"These guys are the Timothy Learys of the brewing world, determined to make beer de rigeur," said Becky Jones, of 4WALL.
"They even made a Richard Hawley Beer for this years Mercury Award nominee and ex Pulp guitarist. The beer was given out at store appearances and snapped up by the movers and shakers at Mute Records.
For the past three months 4WALL have been working in collaboration with Londons best art schools to produce a special Beer Futures beer mat. The winning student designer will win a place in the collective's gallery and agency and the beer mat will go off to be commercially produced and distributed nationally.
