Belhaven and Greene King - a 'hand-in-glove' fit
August 28, 2005: Belhaven chief executive Stuart Ross remains convinced that the take-over of the brewery by Greene King will not damage the brand.
In an interview with today's Sunday Herald, published in Glasgow, he says: Its not PR-speak. We do genuinely look forward to working together ... This deal is about the combination of two excellent beer companies with the same ideals. I really believe its a hand-in-glove fit.
He also reveals that before Green King there was another bid for the company from an undisclosed suitor which would have "rent the company asunder".
