Banks's backs the Big Brum Walk
May 27, 2006: Bankss Brewery is urging people to get involved in the 10-mile Big Brum Walk, which takes place tomorrow (Sunday), to raise money for two local charities - Help A Local Child and the Acorns Hospice in Selly Oak and Walsall. It is co-sponsor with local radio station BRMB.
The walk will start at Millennium Point at 11am, with two checkpoints at the Warwickshire County Cricket Club and Cadbury World, where Bankss sampling stations will be positioned, finishing at Cannon Hill Park where the Lord Mayors Show will be in full swing.
Bankss have created their own Ale Trail especially for the walk which can be found on their website. There are 10 pubs on the route that will all donate 5p from each pint of Bankss sold on the day towards the fundraising total.
Justin Way, Bankss brand manager, said: Were hoping that the Big Brum Walk will raise lots of money for the local charities. Weve arranged to donate 5p from every pint of Bankss sold to support the charities on the day and for two weeks after the event. Weather permitting; Im sure everyone will be thirsty on route so lots of money should be raised.
