Online petition to save Hanson's Mild

March 27, 2007: CAMRA has launched an online petition to try to persuade Marston's to reverse a decision to axe Hanson's Mild.

Marston's has said it will end production of the beer by the end of April and will be encouraging drinkers to try another beer from its stable, Banks's Original, a sweet malty brew.

"While Banks's Original is a great beer in its own right it is completely different in taste to Hanson's Mild," said a CAMRA spokesperson.

Hanson's brewery was established in Dudley, Birmingham, 125 years ago and was acquired by Marston's — previously Wolverhampton & Dudley — in 1991.

The Wolverhampton Express & Echo said Marston's cited quality problems on its decision to axe the beer.
