Skinner's beers complement Oliver's food
June 25, 2006: Budding chefs being trained at Jamie Olivers new Fifteen Cornwall restaurant at Watergate Bay are being supported in a deal involving new bottled products launched by Skinners Brewery.
The restaurant recently opened in a blaze of publicity, with 20 disadvantaged young people from across Cornwall being trained to become world-class chefs. Thousands of people have already tried to book a meal at Fifteen Cornwall and all profits will go to the Cornwall Foundation of Promise, which has been set up to support, train and guide the youngsters.
Skinners have agreed to supply their Cornish Lager and Betty Stogs bitter in 330ml bottles - newly launched and designed specially for restaurants - and will donate 5p to the foundation for every bottle sold at Fifteen Cornwall.
We are very pleased to be able to help in this way as Fifteen Cornwall is an extremely worthwhile project, providing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the youngsters concerned and raising Cornwalls profile in spectacular fashion, said brewery managing director Steve Skinner.
These bottled beers will be the perfect complement to a restaurant meal, being very light and served in good-sized bottles.
