Green Goblin gets political

May 24, 2007: Green Goblin, the oak-aged Cider from Wychwood Brewery has launched a new ad campaign light-heartedly based around political issues.

Under the strapline 'So oak aged it’s barking’, the Green Goblin Party’s manifesto aims to throw conservative cider laws into panic, with a number of proclamations, including:

l Making the elderly work harder — by using up to 100-year-old oak barrels

l Accelerating climate change — by creating a warmer atmosphere with a Green Goblin party

l Getting rid of the polar ice caps — by chopping them up and floating them in Green Goblin cider

l Fighting globalisation — by using only English apples

l Increasing the scope of vat — by letting the cider sleep in really old oak vats

l And campaigning for 100% tax relief on red stripy hats.

Green Goblin has on-trade listings in Punch Taverns and with Waverley TBS. It is also available at Waitrose and Sainsbury at £1.69 per 500ml bottle. It is the result of a partnership between Wychwood and Thatchers Cider.
