Beautiful Beer golds for two Cains pubs

April 23, 2007: Two Liverpool pubs managed by Cains brewery have been presented with Beautiful Beer Gold Awards after coming through a rigorous ‘cellar to glass’ inspection of their draught and bottled beers.

Licensees at The Brewery Tap and Doctor Duncan’s — both in central Liverpool — passed their Beautiful Beer Award assessment with flying colours and collected commemorative plaques.

The awards, launched 12 months ago, aim to reward and recognise pubs delivering ‘excellence in beer’ — giving drinkers a ‘badge of quality assurance’ to help them choose pubs serving great beer.

Of the 150 awards presented to date, the majority have been Gold level, which assesses pubs on all aspects of beer quality from cellar maintenance to beer temperature and glass cleanliness.

Ajmail Dusanj, joint managing director of Cains, said: “Our managers and their teams take great pride in keeping and serving their beers to the highest standards and thoroughly deserve this award.

"The Beautiful Beer plaque outside the pub tells customers that they’re guaranteed a great beer inside, whether draught or bottled, so we’re sure this will have a positive effect on the beer trade at both these successful pubs. This all fits in our strap line ‘The Art of Brewing', and we are determined to become Britain’s favourite brewer.”
