CAMRA launches 'Save Gale's' campaign

November 22, 2005: CAMRA branches within the organisation's Wessex region have set up a website dedicated to trying to save Gale's brewery.

Fuller's have agreed to purchase the 158-year-old brewery, which makes a number of popular ales including HSB and Festival Mild. But the London brewery has not yet announced any plans for the Hampshire site or for the beers brewed there.

"CAMRA is calling on Fuller's to do the right thing, by keeping the Gales brewery open and continuing to brew the full range of Gales beers," said a spokesman for CAMRA's North Hampshire branch.

The Save Gale's website is at www.savegales.org.uk/

There is a separate website - www.camraactionnetwork.org.uk/gales/ - where you can sign an online petition.
