Cask Marque find 30 degree Celsius beer
July 22, 2006: There's nothing like a lovely cool pint of beer on a hot day, is there, but Cask Marque inspectors have discovered it's not just outside that the temperature's rising.
Spot checks at 200 pubs revealed many serving real ale above the recommended temperature of between 11 and 13 degree Celsius.
Outlets in Salisbury and Keswick were measures as having beer at 23 degrees, but even this paled compared to one Dartford hostelry where the beer thermometer hit 30 degrees - two degrees short of the average temperature of bath water.
