Beer being served too warm
June 22, 2005: John Major may have seen it as part of his vision of an idyllic England, but warm beer is proving something of a problem in the pub industry, a new survey reveals.
Real ale quality watchdog Cask Marque found that of 2,000 pints it sampled in a test, 44 per cent were above the recommended temperature of 11-13C.
And one pub in Kent was serving a pint at a sweltering 35C.
Cask Marque director Paul Ninny said there was a common misconception that beer was meant to be served warm.
