CAMRA seeks club of the year nominations
January 22, 2010: The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) is seeking nominations for its UK Club of the Year competition for 2011. Any club whose membership is open to all and serves top quality real ale is eligible to enter.
Co-ordinator, John Holland, said: This much sought after, prestigious award is open to all clubs that show commitment to good quality real ale, and I'm really looking forward to seeing which clubs are nominated, whether known to CAMRA or not.
"No doubt they will come from every corner of the UK and represent virtually every type of club we have. I fully expect the judges to have a hard job deciding between them."
In 2009, the award went to the Guiseley Factory Workers Club, in West Yorkshire. Deadline for self-nominations is March 31, 2010, with the winner to be announced in May 2011.
All nominations for the award, complete with name and address, can be submitted online at www.camra.org.uk/coty or sent to: Ian Charlton, 11 Oxford Road, St Johns, Wakefield, West Yorkshire WF1 3LB phone 01924 385 094 (home), 07776 383 477 (mobile) or e-mail ian.charlton@blueyonder.co.uk
