Discover Hidden Depths from deepest Wiltshire
l Hoppy days: sampling the glorious the raw ingredients.
October 21, 2006: Hidden Depths (4.6%) is the new seasonal ale from Wiltshire's Hidden Brewery.
The very deep ruby red stout adopts its autumnal tones naturally from roasted barley and chocolate malt. One of four seasonal Hidden Brewery ales, Hidden Depths has a complex aroma with a hint of liquorice.
Hidden Depths is an aromatic stout which is rich in colour and perfect for drinking in warm cosy pubs as the days get colder, said Hidden brewer Gary Lumber.
"It is always really good fun creating new ales - blending different ingredients, adapting the way they are brewed and of course making sure everyone joins in for the taste tests! Hidden Depths is particularly suitable for Halloween and Guy Fawkes as traditionally, this is when stout making competitions were held.
The complete brewing process takes place at the Hidden Brewery, which is tucked away in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside - hence its name. Gary has been brewing for nearly 15 years and uses malting barley sourced from Warminster Maltings, and hops from Kent and Worcestershire.
He added: "We pride ourselves on brewing premium real ale, using traditional brewing techniques and quality ingredients. Weve had a great response to Hidden Depths at our pub, The Bell Inn at Wylye, and we look forward to rolling it out to pub and clubs in the region as the days draw in.
