More will get chance to try Oak Aged Beer

l Versatile: Innis & Gunn Oak Aged Beer

September 21, 2006: Innis & Gunn’s Original Oak Aged Beer is being listed at all 12 Corney& Barrow Wine Bars, priced £3.95 per 33cl bottle.

Dougal Sharp, managing director of Innis & Gunn, said: “Corney & Barrow’s London Wine Bars are ideal on-trade outlets for Innis & Gunn.

"The bars have a reputation for outstanding service and quality, with a ‘taste-literate’ clientele who are discerning about their choice of drink.

"We feel Innis & Gunn Oak Aged Beer is a great addition to the excellent drinks list and a perfect complement for the high quality menu.”

Inside the bars Innis & Gunn will be matched to a selection of daily food specials that are prepared alongside the revolving, seasonal three-month menu.

Each dish on the à la carte menu is paired with a recommended wine, and Innis & Gunn will be the first ever beer to be food-matched at Corney & Barrow.

Klaus Buttner, executive chef at Corney & Barrow, said his kitchen teams were delighted to have the chance to match Oak Aged Beer to menu specials.

"It’s such a versatile beer and we have already paired it beautifully in our kitchen taste tests with dishes as varied as Gravadlax, beer-battered halibut, glazed pork belly, and apple fritters”.

Innis & Gunn Oak Aged Beer was launched in August 2003. It goes through a 77-day maturation process (10 times the national average for ales), including 30 days in lightly toasted American white oak barrels.
