Drink Honey Dew and enter beer garden draw

May 21, 2008: The Crown & Sceptre, a Fuller’s pub in Shepherd’s Bush, London, has decided to offer its customers an unusual prize — the chance to have the beer garden named after them for a fortnight.

The idea, which was the brainchild of bar supervisor Aggy Keagan, will be on offer to all customers who purchase a pint, half or bottle of Fuller’s Organic Honey Dew.

Customers will be given a raffle ticket with each purchase and these will go into a draw. A blackboard with the full name of the beer garden will then be displayed so the winner can bring their friends and family to their very own outside drinking area. The draw will be repeated on a fortnightly basis and the first winner will be chosen on Bank Holiday Monday, May 26.

Manager Christie Graham said: “Customers love it when publicans and bar staff know their name, so Aggy thought we could take it a step further and actually name the beer garden in the winning drinker’s honour. Everyone’s heard of Martha’s Vineyard and St James’s Park — well we’re offering Ben’s Beer Garden.

“We decided to run it on Organic Honey Dew as it is such a great beer for the summer. What could be better on a hot sunny day than a delicious, chilled Organic Honey Dew in your own, personal beer garden?”
