Wider audience for Devilishly good beer

June 20, 2007: Duvel Moortgat, brewer of Belgium’s iconic 8.5% ABV blond beer, has announced that Duvel is now available in more than 1,000 Threshers stores, as well as in Asda, Booths, Morrisions, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose.

Duvel — meaning Devil in Flemish — is a bottle-conditioned ale renowned for its beautiful towering head and vibrant lemon colour.

Noted also for its complex flavour and pronounced hop aromas, Duvel has established a reputation for itself both as an aperitif and as a good partner for food.

Duvel UK's general manager, Nick Short, said: "Duvel has been selling fantastically well in off trade for over 15 years, where for many consumers, it is an affordable luxury brand.

"We are particularly pleased to have been listed with Thresher, who are the UK’s 13th largest private retailer and supply to over 150 million customers.”
