New owners, but Timothy Taylor pie remains
April 20, 2006: Joanne and David Thirkell have taken over the Brown Cow, Bingley, a Timothy Taylor-owned riverside pub which has just made it into CAMRA's Good Food Guide.
The couple, who have moved from The Ship at Aldborough near Boroughbridge, have many years experience of running successful pubs. Joanne is also a trained chef so she is looking to develop and extend the existing food offer.
We will be concentrating on home made food served every lunchtime and evening, as well as all day Saturday and Sunday," she said. "We will be extending the menu and emphasising the traditional Sunday roast lunches. One dish that will definitely be staying, however, is the extremely popular Timothy Taylor steak and ale pie.
