Brewing giants warn of price rises
February 20, 2008: As it prepares to enter an era of new ownership, Scottish & Newcastle (S&N) has warned that beer prices may go up substantially to offset spiralling costs.
S&N agreed to a takeover offer from a Carlsberg / Heineken consortium last month.
And Carlsberg itself has also said it foresees prices rises in many of its beer markets around the world. Raw materials have leapt in price, said the brewer.
