1,000th customer signs up in anniversary year
l Terry Beard (left) managing director of Park Retail, celebrates with Steve Skinner after becoming the brewer's 1,000th customer
July 19, 2007: Skinner's Brewery, of Truro, Cornwall, has signed up of its 1,000th customer in its 10th anniversary year.
The brewery is currently on course to double its capacity over three years, with another major investment programme well under way. One of the customers to benefit will be the companys latest Park Retail Ltd, of St Austell, who will now be supplying eight holiday camp site supermarkets across Cornwall with the full range of Skinners bottled beers and lager.
I had no idea our deal was one in a thousand, said Park Retail managing director Terry Beard, who received a commemorative framed certificate from his counterpart, Steve Skinner, at the brewery.
Skinner's have a superb range of beers and they are a very progressive company. I am delighted to be involved with them and very much look forward to both our businesses continuing to grow together.
Steve Skinner said: We have certainly come a long way in 10 years and with the development programme now in hand I hope we can be celebrating our 2,000th customer in rather less time!
The brewery has steadily increased its workforce since opening in Newham Road and now employs 30 people. With a number of award-winning beers under its belt, it moved to its present premises, also in Newham Road, in 2003. Steve and his wife Sarah moved to Cornwall after setting up and selling the Tipsy Toad Brewery in the Channel Islands.
