River Cottage Stinger gets national release

December 18, 2007: Badger Brewery's River Cottage Stinger is now easier to grasp as Thresher is to stock it in more than 1,000 of its stores.

Brewed in conjunction with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall at his famous River Cottage, Stinger is a tongue-tingling, handcrafted organic ale using hand-picked nettles.

"I think we have produced a refreshing beer with true West Country character and real depth," said Hugh of the brew. "It's slightly spicy with a light bitterness and a subtle tingle that comes from the nettles.

"Equally good with summer barbecues and winter roasts — or while sitting on a hay bale, watching the sun go down."

River Cottage products are usually sold through delicatessens, independent retailers and farm shops. Thresher is the only major retailer to stock this organic ale.
