Tarantino: Cains is 'awesome'

September 17, 2007: Cains’ reputation as a brewer for the more discerning drinker has spread to Hollywood.

When Quentin Tarantino visited Liverpool to promote his new film Death Proof, he went out of his way to track down a crate of the brewer's beer.

The drink, which he declared “awesome” and held aloft in an Oscar-winning pose during his address to the audience at Death Proof’s UK premier, was recommended to Tarantino by friend Samuel L Jackson.

The Pulp Fiction star developed a taste for Cains while filming The 51st State in Liverpool.

Quentin also admitted that his day off in Liverpool was going to spent touring the city’s pubs in search of more examples of his favourite British tipple.
