Bob and Dot help promote Brit beer in Spain

January 17, 2007: Cartoon legend Bill Tidy is creating an exclusive comic strip series for The Little Beer Company, which specialises in exporting British ales and bitters to Spain.

The cartoons will focus on Bob and Dot — a British expatriate couple living on the fictional Costa Luque — and will appear regularly on the website of the UK- and Spain-based company.

Steve Ross, director of The Little Beer Company, said: "Our customers are mainly British expats living on the Costa del Sol so we feel sure they will be able to identify with the adventures of Bob and Dot.

"Bill Tidy is the best-known British cartoonist and we feel privileged to have such a much-loved figure contributing cartoons for our website customers to enjoy."

The Little Beer Company has relationships with all the major UK brewers including Greene King, Shepherd Neame, and Wells and Young's. It is the only business on the Costa del Sol that markets and sells UK bitters, ales, stouts and ciders to both the bar trade and the public, and will soon be opening a new office on the Costa Blanca.

Bill, 73, owes his fame to cartoon creations such as The Fosdyke Saga and The Cloggies. The veteran cartoonist — who holds the MBE — should feel in harmony with his latest venture as he is a keen supporter of real ales.
