Troubled pub group tenants forced to break tie

September 16, 2006: Tenants in London & Edinburgh Pubs are having to buy beer out of their tie after the holding company behind the group called in administrators.

Ernst & Young will be keeping the London & Edinburgh Swallow Group operating while it looks at options for the company, which has admitted it has been struggling for some time.

Scottish and Newcastle UK has decided not to supply the group's pubs with beer which means the tenants have been forced down the out-of-tie route.

Scottish and Newcastle are working with Ernst & Young to try to get supplies up and running again.
