Celebrating the best of the USA at the White Horse
June 16, 2008: The White Horse, on Parsons Green, London, is staging an all-American weekend to tie in with the country's Independence Day celebrations.
The festivities commence on Friday, July 4, and continue for the following two days. The pub will be celebrating all the US is famous for, including line dancing, great American bands, and all-weekend barbecue and, of course, the beer.
Manager Dan Fox said: The White Horse has always been a pub with a real passion for beer and this festival is a great way of introducing a variety of very interesting, relatively unknown American beers to the great White Horse customer.
We will have breweries such as Goose Island Beer Company, from Chicago, Flying Dog Brewery, from Denver, Sierra Nevada, from California, Anchor Brewing, from San Francisco, Rogue Brewery, from Oregon, Brooklyn Brewery, from New York, and many more, showcasing a wide selection of keg and cask beers.
And, to further celebrate the historic links between our nation and the US, there will be very special English cask ales brewed using Americas finest hops & barley, various American draught lagers and an array of bottled beers.
Music will be provided by Incredible Blues Puppies on Friday evening, Bluesabuse on Saturday and Spikedrivers (American roots/Americana) to round off the weekend down-home style on Sunday.
Among the fun & frivolity, on Saturday evening from 8pm, there will be line dancing for everyone, three great bands and an all-American beer and food matching.
The White Horse will also be playing host to the respected young beer journalist Ben McFarland, author of Good Beer Guide West Coast USA, who will be holding a seminar discussing and signing copies of his book which will be available to purchase throughout the weekend.
