Coors offers lifeline to museum supporters
April 16, 2008: Having said it would close the facility in June, Coors has offered a lifeline to those seeking to keep Britain's last brewing museum open.
This week is has said that, if an organisation comes forward to run the attraction, known these days at the Coors Visitor Centre, it will a free lease of the building, £100,000 a year towards its upkeep and a one-off payment of £200,000 to get the new organisation up and running.
The news has been greeted positively by Burton MP Janet Dean, who has joined the hundreds protesting against the threatened closure of the facility.
