Black Sheep highlights the Ewe Factor

December 15, 2007: Forget the X Factor and Simon Cowell — this New Year it’s all about the Ewe Factor, according to Black Sheep Brewery and its new promotion aimed at publicans.

The Masham-based brewery has launched a new range of comedy drip mats, the designs for which are being previewed in the brewery's 2008 calendar. They feature world famous pop artists, including ‘The Bleetles’, ‘Ewe 2’ and ‘Sheepie Wonder’, as well as classic lines such as ‘isn’t sheep lovely’ and ‘sheeps so fine’.

Helen Allison, marketing manager at Black Sheep, said: “Inspiration for our latest promotion came from the X Factor. With the programme creating a talking point in so many of the UK’s pubs, we thought we would tap into the theme of the moment and create a promotion for landlords that takes a humorous look at the world of music.

“We hope that the new promotion will see Black Sheep drinkers collect the beer mats so that they have all six Ewe Factor stars in their collection, driving footfall to our flagsheep pubs and creating brand loyalty amongst our faithful customers.”

The calendars and beer mats, which have been designed to help publicans engage with customers and reinforce the personality of the Black Sheep brand, will be distributed to landlords to coincide with the X Factor final on 22 December as part of an ongoing programme of promotional support from Black Sheep.
