Son of a Bitch is Welsh champion

December 15, 2005: Bullmastiff Son of a Bitch (6%) has been named CAMRA's Champion Beer of Wales.

The competition winners were announced at the Great Welsh Beer and Cider Festival, held in Cardiff's City Hall.

The Silver award went to the Tomos Watkin Brewery, of Swansea, for its Merlin Stout (4.2%).

Bullmastiff was founded in 1987 by brewing brothers and former milkmen Bob and Paul Jenkins.

“It’s been a pintas to pints story for us”, said a jubilant Bob. “We’ve always set out to brew good beers and having an accolade like this from CAMRA just goes to prove that drinkers want good hoppy ales brewed in the traditional manner.

"I only brew beers that I like to drink myself so it’s great to be recognised for having good taste."
