Batemans' awards for beers and visitor centre

October 15, 2007: Batemans Brewery, the independent family regional brewer and retailer, based in Lincolnshire, has picked up a collection of awards for its beers and its Visitor Centre.

Victory Ale (6%) won a gold medal in its category strength at the Drinks International Beer Challenge and its Dark Lord (5%) was named one of the World’s 50 best beers in the same competition, sponsored by publisher William Reed.

Combined Harvest (4.7%) was awarded a style trophy for best harvest pale ale, sponsored by consumer magazine Beers of the World.

Batemans' Visitor Centre, in Wainfleet, was crowned best railway pub 2007 by the Association of Community Rail Partnerships.

Jaclyn Bateman, marketing director for Batemans Brewery, said: “Receiving these awards in such a short space of time is really fantastic for all of us at Batemans and a credit to everyone concerned.”
