Small pub with an impressive beer range
July 15, 2006: Thomas Hardy Ale will be available for the first time in cask in the UK when a new pub opens in London's Borough Market on August 3.
The Rake will be the first pub to open in the market for 100 years, and although it will measure only 13 by seven feet, it is sure to become a Mecca for capital drinkers.
Other draught delights will be Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, German Maissels Weisse wheat beer and Belgian Liefmans Kriek. There will also be an extensive range of bottled beers, for which Rake owners Utobeer have become renowned through their existing Borough Market stand.
