InBev volumes down in Western Europe
April 15, 2006: Against strong figures from the rest of the world, it seems international brewer InBev has been finding the market tougher in the UK for the first three months of this year.
Volumes fell 0.7 per cent in the UK, and 0.5 per cent across Western Europe as a whole - figures blamed in weaker on-trade volumes. In Belgium the decline was 1.7 per cent.
"We are dedicated to upgrading the level of innovation
in these [Western European] markets and in the first quarter of 2006 we
have launched Jupiler,
Belle-Vue and Leffe line extensions in Belgium, while in the UK we started
to install new Stella Artois draft fonts, which are designed to ensure
ideal serving conditions," said a spokesperson for InBev.
