Batemans Summer Swallow returns
![]() |
June 14, 2008: Batemans' popular seasonal ale, Summer Swallow, is back.
A crisp, clean beer with an ABV of 3.9% on cask and 4.2% in bottle, it has a delightfully floral nose and a subtle bitter taste.
Both versions are now available nationwide, bottles through supermarkets and casks through wholesalers, as well as Batemans' own outlets.
A light, crisp, golden and thirst quenching beer, beer expert Roger Protz describes it, on the bottle label, as: A golden pale ale brewed with Maris Otter pale malt and hopped with Phoenix and Target varieties.
"It has a stunning aroma of biscuity malt, orange fruit, a hint of vanilla and grassy hops, whilst the finish is dry fruity and quenching."
The bottle version, like all Batemans bottled beers, is vegan and vegetarian friendly.
It makes an ideal accompaniment to salads and cold meat dishes.
