Local beer menu for Galtres Festival
September 13, 2007: The September special from York Brewery a 5% IPA and another seasonal from Marston Moor called Cannon Fodder will be among the beer delights at the Galtres Festival next Saturday (September 22).
The challenge is on to the drink the beer festival dry, say the organisers, but with 20 firkins of ale, mostly from North Yorkshire's excellent breweries, there's a lot of beer to get through.
Some favourites from previous years favourites are making another appearance, notably Daleside Blonde, from Harrogate the 2005 festival champion and Black Dub Oat Stout, from Wensleydale Brewery. There will also be the Byland Brew from the Abbey Inn, made by Suddaby's of Malton, which is bound to go down well once again.
Among the newcomers will be a wheat beer called Aysgarth Falls, a mild, and two barrels of a Pilsner-style beer from Wharfedale called Wharfemeister this was very popular in 2005 but the organisers couldn't get any last year, so they're delighted to have it back.
