Hidden beers go down a treat at shows

September 13, 2007: Hidden Brewery, in Wiltshire, is celebrating a record summer of pint pulling as a result of supporting eight country shows throughout the West Country.

Nearly 9,000 pints were served over the Hidden Brewery's portable oak bar between May and September.

Brewer Gary Lumber said: "The atmosphere at the summer shows has been fantastic, despite some pretty damp weather, and the team at the Hidden Brewery have been delighted with how our real ale has been received.

"We like to support the events in our surrounding area and look forward to welcoming more visitors to our bar next year."

Made by a local carpenter, the brewery's bar has travelled between Melbury Abbas, Shepton Mallet, Gillingham, Marnhull, Yeovilton, Stock Gaylard, Barford St Martin and, most recently, to Sturminster Newton's Cheese Festival, where hot, thirsty visitors were greeted by a delicious selection of Hidden ales.

The range of beers served at the shows included award-winning, full hop traditional bitter, Hidden Potential, Hidden Fantasy — a straw coloured beer with an underlying fruity sweetness — and Hidden Quest, a fresh tasting amber bitter, with a fruity aroma and a dry finish.
