Greene King could back down over Lewes Arms
April 13, 2007: The Publican is reporting that Greene King could be about to re-introduce Harvey's beers to its Lewes Arms pub in Sussex.
The pub has been boycotted by local real ale drinkers since Greene King purchased the property and decided to drop the local Harveys brews in favour of its own portfolio.
Adam Collett, marketing director for Greene King, admitted the company had not fully appreciated the unique position of the Lewes Arms as a former Harvey's brewery tap, and had "underestimated the strength of feeling which led to many locals boycotting what was once a great British pub".
