A new ginger beer for a (hopefully) hot summer
February 12, 2010: A new alcoholic ginger beer is set to make a big impact in the South West this year.
GB
is the brainchild of three old friends who met in their local pub, one
of which just happens to be the finest cider and apple juice maker in
Cornwall the rest, as they say, is history.
Between them they created Beaumont's Brewery, and they say their first product, GB, has everything you'd expect from a really good ginger beer.
"It's wonderfully light, beautifully sparkling and just sweet enough, yet is subtly spiced with that unmistakable hit of aromatic ginger," said the trio. "However, there's one extra addition... alcohol, a result of brewing it just that little bit longer. We're not in the habit of dishing out advice, but our suggestion is that you serve GB nice and cold... or at least over ice if you can't wait. Either way, make sure you enjoy it."
GB is available from many good stores and pubs. Cornish on-trade locations include: The Mill House, Trebarwith; The Old Ship, Padstow; Eight Bar, Falmouth; The Finnygook Inn, Torpoint; and The New Inn on Tresco, Isles of Scilly.
Shop stockists include: Wadebridge Wines, Wadebridge; Kingsley Village, Fraddon; Lobbs Farm Shop, Heligan; and Homeleigh, Launceston.
